Prada L'Homme EDT Dupes

The original: Prada L'Homme EDT

$135  ·  Floral Woody Musk
Top Neroli, Black Pepper, Cardamom, Carrot Seeds
Heart Iris, Violet, Geranium, Mate
Base Amber, Cedar, Sandalwood, Patchouli

Daniela Andrier, 2016, and the fragrance that made clean-and-powdery a masculine category. Neroli and black pepper over an iris-violet heart, landing on amber and sandalwood. Soapy, refined and close to the skin — the comparison people reach for is expensive laundry. Six to eight hours, moderate projection, and almost impossible to wear badly.

Every note in Evoke Gold is in L'Homme — all seven of them, orris root being iris. It is a subset rather than an approximation, which is precisely how owners describe it. Two separate Fragrantica Club threads exist for this comparison alone, which is rare. One owner calls it ninety per cent identical with better longevity, another liked it enough to swap their Prada away, and a third who sampled the original at a counter says calling it very close undersells it — the most accurate clone they own. An eBay verified buyer puts it at ninety-five per cent, lasting ten hours against the Prada's six. Read the criticism, because it is consistent and it is about texture rather than shape. Several owners find it noticeably more synthetic up close, one describing pencil shavings, and say it misses the creamy, soapy refinement that is the whole point of L'Homme. The drydown runs sweeter and more ambery; one calls it L'Homme meets Valentino Uomo, and a dissenter thinks it lands closer to Givenchy Gentleman Boisée. What it lacks explains all of that: no cardamom, no carrot seeds, no mate, no sandalwood, and no VIOLET — which together with iris is what gives the original its powdery softness. One thing that explains why opinion on this splits so hard: the opening is the weak part. An owner who bought the Prada says the first ten to fifteen minutes are unimpressive and it improves markedly if you leave it alone — so anyone judging it from a first spray is rating a different fragrance from anyone who wears it for an hour. Buy it for the shape, not the finish. And check the label: Ajmal sells Evoke Gold for Him, a separate Evoke Gold for Women, an Evoke Silver Edition and a plain Evoke for Him, all different.
