Seven shared molecules, including Centaurus's complete base -- tonka, benzoin and bourbon vanilla -- and its spice opening of cardamom, cinnamon and pink pepper. Community agreement on the target is unanimous and comes from people who own both: a Parfumo reviewer calls it very similar to Centaurus with six-hour performance, and another who tested the Creed directly says Crimson surpasses it. Here is what you should know before buying: Crimson has no tobacco, and tobacco is the note Creed leads with -- their own copy describes Centaurus as burning bright with plumes of incandescent tobacco. Crimson also drops the floral heart entirely, where Centaurus has heliotrope, jasmine, geranium and sandalwood. One Parfumo reviewer closes the gap by layering, adding tobacco and honey from another fragrance to get nearer the Creed. If tobacco is why you love Centaurus, this will not replace it. If it is the spiced vanilla-tonka warmth you are after, it gets you most of the way for a fiftieth of the price.
