How we score. Every percentage comes from cross-referencing note pyramids against Fragrantica and brand-official sources, then weighting what people who own both fragrances actually report. We don't publish anything below 85%, and we say when something barely clears.
#1Dua Fragrances Savage Elixir
Shares with the original: Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Cardamom, Grapefruit, Lavender, Licorice, Sandalwood, Amber, Patchouli, Haitian Vetiver
Dua lists every one of Sauvage Elixir's ten notes — grapefruit, cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom; lavender; licorice, sandalwood, amber, patchouli and Haitian vetiver — and the best owner comparison we found backs it up. The most-upvoted review on its Fragrantica page calls it very close to Dior's, with slightly less spice, more lavender and a smoother finish; that owner actually prefers Dua's drydown after three or four hours, saying it becomes smoother and easier to like as the day goes on. We revised it from 91 to 89 in October 2026 because that is most of the independent evidence there is: a complete note list and one detailed owner, much like Pineapple Intense on our Aventus page. Dua's own marketing calls it the most accurate recreation on the market, but a brand's claim about itself does not count as evidence. It is sold in a smaller bottle than Dior's, so compare price per millilitre before you buy.

#2Lattafa Asad EDP
Shares with the original: Patchouli, Amber
The best-known Sauvage Elixir alternative, and a real one — but warmer and sweeter than Dior's, and we revised its score from 89 to 87 in October 2026. An owner who tested both says that on first sniff they smell exactly the same; up close, Elixir has a fresher, almost aftershave edge, while Asad has a spicier, warmer twist. Owners in the Fragrantica forums agree it is heavily inspired by Elixir rather than a strict clone, and one finds it sweeter with less performance. The note lists show why, and the gap is large: the two share only patchouli and amber on paper. Asad builds on black pepper, pineapple, tobacco and coffee, and lacks the lavender and licorice that keep Elixir sharp — this score rests on how it smells to people who own both, not on the pyramid. Batch matters too: reviewers report newer gold-cap bottles are noticeably better than older ones. If you like Elixir's warmth more than its bite, some owners actually prefer this.
