The most striking evidence sits on Althaïr's own Fragrantica page, where a reviewer who has worn both argues the expensive one is the lesser fragrance: the notes are almost identical, they say, but Brun is more appealing and lasts longer, and the difference comes down to the raw materials. It is also a fraction of the price. We have no other entry where someone who owns both prefers the clone outright. Two things keep this at 91 rather than higher. That testimony, striking as it is, comes from one named reviewer and a tech blog rather than a side-by-side from a fragrance publication. And the candied almond really is absent, which is part of what gives the original its marzipan edge in the drydown.
